Dr. Jan Cychnerski - Senior AI & Computer Vision Expert at BrainScan - is a seasoned researcher and engineer specializing in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and medical image analysis. At BrainScan, he plays a pivotal role in developing advanced AI algorithms for the detection of brain pathologies in computed tomography (CT) scans, contributing significantly to the company's mission of enhancing diagnostic accuracy and efficiency in healthcare.

Holding the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology, Dr. Cychnerski has been instrumental in both academia and industry. His academic journey began with a degree in computer science in 2011, followed by a Ph.D. focusing on the automatic analysis of medical endoscopic images. Since 2016, he has been imparting knowledge as a lecturer at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics, while also engaging in industrial projects as a computer vision engineer. His research interests encompass machine learning, neural networks, deep learning, medical imaging, and parallel and distributed computing.

Dr. Cychnerski's extensive project portfolio includes collaborations on human brain CT image analysis with BrainScan.ai, book page recognition with Gdańsk University of Technology, and several initiatives related to optical character recognition (OCR) and image processing. He has also contributed to projects like GastroView for endoscopy video analysis, real-time railway traction monitoring with makPOS, and impedance cardiography data processing with GUT and JIT Solutions. As a co-author of CV-Lab, a tool for rapid prototyping of image processing algorithms, he has demonstrated a commitment to advancing the field of computer vision.

In addition to his research and engineering endeavors, Dr. Cychnerski serves as a scientific supervisor for the "Gradient" student research group at Gdańsk University of Technology, fostering the next generation of AI and machine learning enthusiasts
